GM said it could not confirm the death of lights which can cause accidents.
"If the headlamp driver module is not operating properly, the low front lights and lamps LDR suddenly die. This condition does not affect the high lights, sign lights, or fog lights," said the GM.
GM said it had informed the Board of the US Highway Safety (NHTSA) about this problem.
The latest recall makes GM attract 30.4 million vehicles worldwide and 26.85 million vehicles in the United States throughout 2014.
"Of the 317.357 vehicles in the latest recall, 273.182 registered in the United States with most of the rest in Canada and Mexico," said GM.
