Mercedes has spent almost 20 years trying to provide security and medical car for the Formula 1, so it was hardly a shock when the company announced that the new Mercedes-AMG C63 AMG S GT and real estate as would usher in the F1 circus to serve. The two turbo monster replaces the old SLS AMG Safety Car and C63 AMG medical car that has served in a trim or another since 2010 and 2008 respectively.


The biggest change for both cars is of course the light beam. It is on a carbon fiber tire on the AMG GT, Mercedes says optimizes airflow to the large rear wing mounted. In the meantime, the position of the lights on the wind tunnel test, it was confirmed. In the cockpit, two iPads allow the AMG GT passenger, fuel analyst Peter Tibbetts to monitor world feed of the race, while also keeping an eye on the race data. The tablets remain in the vehicle via a wireless Internet connection is connected.





Changes in the C63 S cars are less extensive. There is a bar of light and the usual signal systems in the headlights and taillights, while the cargo compartment includes both a respirator and a defibrillator to manage to serious medical emergencies. As with the AMG GT C63 in the F1 traditional silver Safety / Medical Car livery is ready.

Apart from these changes, both vehicles are only as strong as those that can be purchased at the dealership. Both vehicles are equipped with a 4.0-liter, 510-horsepower, twin-turbo V8, while a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission overtakes the grunting with lightning fast shifts. Thus equipped, the AMG GT 60 hit in 3.8 seconds and the C63 can get it in 4.1 seconds
